This includes the production of periodic financial reports, creation and maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk for all offices as well as provide information to management as needed. The controller is also responsible for enhancing the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
- Build / Enhance processes within controllers domain and continually work to increase accuracy, efficiency and effectiveness of role and team
- Manage the day-to-day financial accounting functions
- Facilitate weekly, monthly and quarterly management reporting
- Oversee Treasury function
- Provide oversight of A/P and A/R personnel
- Manage and ensure accurate monthly reconciliation across all carriers / agencies / policies
- Assist with annual budgeting process
- Special projects as assigned by CEO
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years accounting/finance experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, or business administration.
- Experience leading F&A functions in a startup environment
- Experience in the Insurance or proximate industries
- Expert AMS360, accounting cycle
