It felt like a proper send off as Jessica Jeffress took to the main stage during the first general session at Accelerate this March. Jessica was able to share her story with members related to the impact she and her agency had on a Kentucky community following a devastating tornado. While she and her colleagues served as boots on the ground, Jessica was able to tie Peel & Holland’s effectiveness to its use of modern Vertafore solutions to serve its insureds quickly and efficiently. With her words as a backdrop for the relationship she has formed with NetVU and Vertafore, it’s clear that she has earned the respect and appreciation of her fellow NetVU board members and volunteers, but also among Vertafore leadership.
As NetVU brings on new at-large directors and Jessica term ends July 1, Jessica will become a member of the Past Presidents’ Council after having served as vice chairman, chairman, immediate past chairman, Conference Steering Committee chairman, Leadership Development Committee chairman, Finance Committee member, and Health & Safety Task Force member; Jessica’s NetVU CV is impressive to say the least.
But serving on the board wasn’t a planned path for Jessica from the time she first raised her hand to volunteer with NetVU. If you listen to her speak about how she got involved, she explains that her journey to serving as NetVU’s chairman wasn’t on her radar. She got involved small at first, grew her engagement, and said yes to getting further involved with NetVU. And as has been the case for many, it became evident that Jessica was the kind of youthful, energetic, future-thinking leader NetVU needed to engage at the highest level.
Thankfully, she ascended to the board and accepted the challenge and honor of becoming the NetVU Executive Board of Directors chairman. Jessica has been instrumental in leading NetVU through two years of a worldwide pandemic and was the Conference Steering Committee chair who helped NetVU be among the first in this industry to have a major national event in person this past March. She also played a critical role in strengthening NetVU’s relationship with Vertafore during the past three years and establishing NetVU’s current five-year strategic plan that is designed to modernize NetVU’s service, engagement, and education of its members, while also being an obsessive advocate for the expanded use of Vertafore solutions in the industry.
While Jessica’s leadership will be sorely missed on the Executive Board of Directors, she will continue to be an impassioned supporter of NetVU and Vertafore ready to accept the call to help advance the industry and both NetVU and Vertafore. Thank you, Jessica.
