If you’ve ever interacted with NetVU, chances are you’ve felt the warmth, dedication, and heart that Melissa Bond brings to everything she does. After 27 years with NetVU, Melissa continues to show up each day with the same enthusiasm, passion, and member-first mindset as if it were her very first year—and that’s just one of the many reasons she’s so special to our organization.
A Little About Melissa
Melissa calls Pflugerville, Texas home and says what she enjoys most about working at NetVU is simple but powerful: the staff team and our volunteers. She truly believes our differences make us stronger, and she loves how the NetVU team challenges one another, shares cultures, works hard together, and still makes space to celebrate life outside of work.
When she’s not supporting members, you’ll likely find Melissa reading, spending time with her beloved pets—Charlie, Gizmo, and Loretta—or enjoying her favorite comfort food: Mexican cuisine. She’s usually at her best in the mornings (especially with a cup of coffee in hand) and is currently enjoying the show Landman.
Holiday Favorites
The holidays are especially meaningful for Melissa. Her favorite traditions revolve around baking and food, and she never turns down a good cookie. She’s firmly Team Real Tree and treasures her most unforgettable gift—her engagement ring. If she could escape for a dream holiday vacation, you’d find her soaking up the sunshine in St. John, USVI.
Heart for Service
Ask Melissa what she’d love to instantly master, and her answer says everything about who she is: having deeper, more meaningful conversations without rushing. It’s no surprise, then, that her colleagues consistently describe her as someone who makes every member feel welcomed, valued, and supported.

Melissa credits Jessica as a key source of inspiration on the team and says she’s looking forward to seeing how NetVU can continue to work even better together on behalf of our members in the year ahead.
Her proudest moments are rooted in service—ensuring members receive the education, support, connections, and guidance that define the NetVU experience. As one colleague perfectly put it, “After 27 years, you would think she was brand new based on her zest for serving members.”

Despite her outgoing warmth and energy, Melissa admits something that surprises many people: she doesn’t like speaking in front of a group. Yet, she lives by the best advice she’s ever received—“Just go for it.” And she does, every single day, for NetVU and our members.
