If you’ve spent any time at NetVU, chances are you’ve crossed paths with Jon Gorman—and if you have, you probably walked away with a solution to your problem, a thoughtful perspective, and maybe even a story you’re still not entirely sure was 100% true.
Jon has been part of the NetVU team for six years and calls McKinney, Texas home. During that time, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the organization we are today. When asked what he enjoys most about working at NetVU, Jon’s answer says it all: solving problems for our team and our members. That mindset—focused on service, growth, and people—shows up in everything he does.
A Leader Who Truly Cares
Ask anyone at NetVU about Jon, and one theme comes up again and again: he genuinely cares. Team members describe him as approachable, thoughtful, steady, and deeply invested in elevating both the organization and the people behind it.
“Best boss ever,” “team anchor,” and “the perfect balance of ensuring the work gets done while letting everyone have a good time” are just a few of the ways staff describe Jon’s leadership style. He’s known for knowing exactly when to step in, when to give space, and always keeping an open-door (or call-anytime) policy. His belief in his team—trusting people to do the roles they were hired for—has made a lasting impact on NetVU’s culture.
Jon is also credited with playing a major role during times of growth and change, bringing a strong strategic mindset, openness to feedback, and thoughtful leadership that continues to move NetVU forward year after year.
Proud Moments & Looking Ahead
One of Jon’s proudest moments this year was the introduction of NetVU+, a milestone that reflects both innovation and a commitment to better serving members. Looking ahead, he’s excited about making NetVU bigger and better—growing the team so the organization can continue expanding its service to members and Vertafore.
When asked who inspires him at NetVU, Jon doesn’t point to a single person. Instead, he credits the entire team for motivating him every day to help others help our members.
And when it comes to favorite NetVU memories? Jon sums it up best:
“Every day and opportunity to serve our members creates new favorite memories and stories—it’s truly a one-of-a-kind place unlike any I’ve ever worked.”
Outside the Office
Outside of work, Jon stays busy with a wide range of interests. He enjoys fishing, coaching baseball, reading, traveling, and even baking. At home, he shares life with wife of nearly 25 years Krista, and three kids in various stages of in and out of the house - son Cael is a recent college grad, oldest daughter Fiona is a college junior, and youngest daughter Molly is a high school sophomore. Their lives are enriched with a dog Nora and some
fish (unnamed).
He’s a self-proclaimed night owl, fueled by coffee, powered by sleep (his one can’t-live-without item), and comforted by pizza.
During the holidays, Jon keeps it classic—putting up the Christmas tree is his favorite tradition, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is his go-to holiday movie. He’s firmly Team Artificial Tree, and while he may not love losing games, his competitive spirit definitely makes things more fun for everyone involved.
One of a Kind
Whether it’s his witty sense of humor, his legendary (and surprisingly diverse) music taste, or the countless stories he always seems to have ready, Jon brings personality and heart to everything he does. More importantly, he brings stability, care, and leadership that continue to help NetVU grow and thrive.
NetVU is better because of Jon—and we’re grateful for the steady leadership, dedication, and passion he brings to the team every day.
