With NetVU Messaging, Less Will Be More

Ready for some staggering statistics from the Harvard Business Review?
  • On average, professionals have more than 200 emails in their inbox.
  • The average office worker receives 120 emails each day.
  • Only 25% of those emails get a response.

While your own inbox may have a different number of unopened emails right now, I’m certain it’s overflowing.

NetVU is doing its part to help with that.

Currently, we send targeted messages based on role and interests as often as we can. Soon — these things take time — we’ll be curating our content further with the goal to send even more messages based on individual interests. Resulting in the most relevant content for you. As an example, members with a particular Vertafore solution will receive related content. Others who don't use the same solution won’t get messages about it.

Getting ready

While we’d love to make this change tomorrow, we still have some work to do to ensure a smooth transition. First, we need to update and revamp current materials, like this newsletter, so they’re more responsive. We’re also busy formatting emails and the website so they’re more adaptable and mobile-friendly because a lot of emails are opened today on mobile devices.

These moves will get us closer to our goal of more targeted contact for our members. We’re working to accomplish this as quickly as possible and hope that by year-end 2023, your NetVU emails will be more relatable based on your job responsibilities, title, usage, or interests. You’ll still be able to receive all of our emails if you’d like, but if you prefer fewer, that’s OK too. We completely understand; sometimes less is more.

Sharing our process

We know many of you are tackling similar issues with your organization’s messaging. As we continue on our path, we’ll share tips, tricks, and lessons learned in hopes of saving you time and effort during your own process.

We’d also love to hear from you — whether you’ve already completed this process, are in the midst of your own makeover, or are still in the thinking stages. What have been your challenges? What’s worked and what hasn’t? What do you wish you knew before you started?
