Lisa Luna — How One Member’s Idea Turned Into One of NetVU’s Most Popular Education Series
Sometimes the best ideas in the NetVU community don’t start as formal proposals, strategy sessions, or committee plans. They start with a member who sees a problem, solves it for their own agency, and then wonders: Would this help anyone else? That’s exactly how Lisa Luna’s Certificate of Insurance (COI) workflow went from a project she built internally to one of the fastest-growing education series NetVU has ever offered.
It Started with One Email
Lisa reached out after Accelerate — sometime in late May or early June — unsure whether what she had created would matter to anyone outside her agency. She had developed a full COI workflow for her team and thought it might be useful to others, but she wasn’t sure if it was worth sharing or how to even begin. She wasn’t pitching a session, she wasn’t asking for a platform — she was simply asking a question: Do you think other members would benefit from this?
The answer was immediate: yes. Not only would other members benefit — they already needed it.
What Happened Next Was Bigger Than She Expected
What Lisa imagined might be a single session turned into a four-part series. What she thought might attract a handful of curious users quickly turned into hundreds of registered attendees. And what she assumed was just an AMS360-specific process revealed itself to be much bigger. Because COI workflows touch every single corner of the insurance world. Whether you're on AMS360, Sagitta, Vertafore, or anything else, the core need is the same: consistency, clarity, and a process that doesn’t break under pressure.
Lisa wasn’t planning to teach at all — she just didn’t want to keep something useful to herself. That mindset is exactly what NetVU was built on.
Member Helping Member, Exactly as Designed
One of the most powerful parts of the story is how it reflects the NetVU culture. Lisa didn’t reach out, saying, “I want to present.” She reached out, saying, “I’m helping my agency, and I think others might be dealing with the same issues.” She didn’t ask for a stage, she asked for support — and NetVU became the platform that helped turn a quiet internal win into community-wide value.
Even better? It all started because another member found and read a blog she’d written, reached out, and asked for more. One member helping another — and then both turning around to help hundreds more.
That is NetVU at its core: not theory, not marketing language — real people sharing what actually works.
The Best Part? She’s Not a Born Presenter
Lisa is quiet. Soft-spoken. Not a natural “put me on stage” personality. She’s an in-person ambassador at Accelerate, she works behind the scenes, and until recently, she was more nervous about presenting than excited about it. Now? She’s the Director of Training at her agency, leading multiple sessions, sharing reference sheets, and becoming a resource people now seek out.
Her knowledge didn’t just solve a workflow problem. It expanded her influence, elevated her role, and turned her into proof of what happens when someone smart, thoughtful, and generous is given the right space to share.
