How AFCO Direct’s NetVU scholarships help strengthen the future of the industry

At AFCO Direct, supporting agency success goes beyond providing financial solutions; it means investing in the people who drive the insurance industry forward.

Conferences like Accelerate play an important role in building relationships between agencies and clients, peers and partners, mentors and those just beginning their career.

We believe supporting those moments of connection is part of how we give back to the industry. This year, we were proud to sponsor two scholarships to help insurance professionals attend Accelerate – investing in people who are committed to strengthening the independent agency community.

“Our partnership with NetVU allows us to support the agencies that power the insurance industry,” said Jim Williamson, Chief Revenue Officer at AFCO Direct. “These scholarships reflect our commitment to investing in agency growth and long-term success.”

Supporting Growth Through Opportunity

The recipients of the 2026 AFCO Direct-sponsored scholarships reflect what makes this industry special: curiosity, dedication, and a genuine desire to keep learning not just for themselves, but for those around them.

Scholarship Recipient 1: Amy Nicholas

Amy Nicholas, People Champion at Rockwater Insurance Agency in Houston, Texas, shows a true commitment to education and growth. Her appreciation for the opportunity and her genuine desire to pay it forward perfectly reflects the values of AFCO Direct and the legacy this memorial scholarship was created to honor.

“Making connections and helping each other grow is truly priceless.” – Amy Nicholas

Investing in People Who Move Our Industry Forward

By supporting professionals like Amy and Drew, AFCO Direct is proud to help expand access to education and connection, strengthening the independent agency channel one opportunity at a time.

We’re grateful to partner with NetVU and for the professionals who continue to invest in themselves, their teams, and the future of our industry.
